**Job Summary**
Utah Athletics, a Division I institution and BigXII Conference member, is seeking a _Performance Science Coordinator_ in the Applied Health & Performance Science department. This position exists within the Applied Health & Performance Science Department and will report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Applied Health & Performance Science. The purpose of this position is to provide support to varsity sports by assisting in the development and optimization of student-athlete performance, health, and wellness in accordance with the NCAA , BigXII, and University of Utah regulations.
**Responsibilities**
**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Work in collaboration with coaches and support staff to optimize student-athlete health, wellness, and performance in areas including, but not limited to load management, performance prioritization, return to play, baseline testing and screening, student-athlete education, etc.
+ Support assigned teams in implementation and management of performance technology ( GPS , heart rate, force plates, etc.), data collection, and data analysis (Python, R, Power BI, etc.)
+ Collaborate with the athletic department’s support staff for varsity teams including Sports Medicine, Strength & Conditioning, Sport Psychology & Wellness and Performance Nutrition in formulating actionable solutions to relevant performance problems
+ Support the building and management of all Teamworks AMS integrations, forms, and dashboards
+ Utilize data analysis and visualization methods to inform coaches and support staff in the decision-making process
+ Support Applied Health & Performance Science and High Performance Team initiatives
+ Educate student-athletes, coaches, and support staff on topics related to health, wellness, and high performance
+ Engage in regular continuing education and networking to stay up to date on cutting-edge and innovative best practices in an ever-evolving industry
+ Conduct testing and assessment protocols relevant to assigned teams
+ Serve on departmental/campus committees as requested
+ Lead interns on projects relevant to assigned teams
+ Primary Team Assignments: Variety of Olympic Sports
**Required Skills & Abilities:**
+ Ability to collaborate with a dynamic and diverse interdisciplinary team
+ Experience utilizing sport technologies such as GPS , force plates, heart rate, and motion capture
+ Demonstrated data analysis and visualization skills (Power BI, Tableau, Python, R, etc.)
+ Excellent verbal, written, and visualization communication skills
+ Experience communicating with coaches, staff, and athletes
+ Experience or coursework in statistics, data analytics, physiology, and biomechanics

**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Master’s degree in kinesiology, sports science, exercise physiology, biomechanics, statistics, physics, or related field and 1+ years of practical experience in a high-performance sport environment ( NCAA Division 1, Olympic, professional sports organization)
+ In lieu of a Master’s degree, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years of experience may also be considered
+ Certified Builder and Admin for Teamworks AMS required by start of position
+ Demonstrated proficiency via portfolio of projects utilizing statistics, analytics, analytics software, programming languages, data visualization, etc.
+ CPSS Certification through the NSCA by start date

**Preferences**
+ Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python, R, SQL , MatLab, etc.)
+ Background in academic or applied research
+ Experience coaching, teaching, or leading a group
