PCB Designer Job Description As a PCB Designer, you will be responsible for delivering precise PCB layouts and supporting documentation to manufacturing in alignment with both customer and internal requirements. Your role will involve designing for electrical functionality and participating in the creation of library symbols and footprints using IPC standards. You will work as a highly competent ECAD designer, handling intermediate to advanced work assignments independently, and collaborating with other disciplines. You will design and develop PCB layouts while adhering to electrical, mechanical, EMC, manufacturing, and cost requirements, and support PCB layout design reviews. Responsibilities + Deliver PCB layouts and supporting documentation in accordance with customer and internal requirements. + Design for electrical functionality and adhere to electrical, mechanical, EMC, manufacturing, and cost requirements. + Participate in library symbol/footprint creation using IPC standards. + Perform work assignments as a highly competent ECAD designer, independently handling design and release efforts. + Support PCB layout design reviews, including electrical, EMC, and manufacturing aspects. Essential Skills + 5 or more years of experience in ECAD electrical design. + Experience with schematic capture and circuit board layout using OrCad CIS and Cadence PCB Layout Pro workflow. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interactions with various levels within the organization and external agents. + Highly computer literate with expertise in Cadence/Orcad PCB Layout Pro and MS Office. + Familiarity with best commercial practices (including IPC class II & III) for circuit board design and manufacturing. + Knowledge of generating and maintaining parts libraries for both schematic capture and board layout. + Experience designing circuit boards with high-voltage, high-current, and spacing requirements. + Understanding of industry and IPC standards for PCB Design & Library structure. + Ability to understand component data sheets and electrical/mechanical engineering design practices. + Good communication skills and excellent organization and coordination skills. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
