Payroll & Tax Analyst
**Job Description** The Payroll Analyst is responsible for independently completing core payroll processing procedures while also assisting periodic payroll tax filings, audits, system testing, and addressing employee inquiries. In your role as a Payroll Analyst, you will display practical knowledge and application of concepts of payroll principles, operational processes, and procedures in a Shared Service Delivery environment. The ideal candidate for this position possesses deep knowledge of federal / state / local payroll requirements, tax, SOX, and accounting for payroll operational activities. You will also need to display the demonstrated ability to review, analyze and interpret data, identify errors, and prepare reports for Payroll Operations, Accounting, Tax, and SOX Processes. **What** **You’ll** **Do** + Execute payroll calculation processing procedures from start to finish for each pay period. + Responsible for ensuring overtime, shift payments, sales commissions, bonuses, deferred compensation, benefits, taxwithholdings;deductions are calculated, taxed and paid asintended foreach pay period. + Reconcile and resolve payroll variances that occur within the bi-weekly payroll process. + Primary responsibility for loading payroll input files. + Processesvarious data related task within the payroll tax organization such as registrations, taxnoticesandfilings + Assistin the testing, configurationandmaintainingof the payroll systemincluding updating tax rates and tax codes + Assistwith financial reporting and audit requests. + Monitors and manages payroll legislation compliance. + Maintains and creates payroll procedures and employee communications. + Case inquiries and follow up via Salesforce or email supportensuring and documenting resolution. **What You Bring** + Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (whererequired) + 2+ years of experience in related field + In lieu of degree, 4+ years of experience in related field **What We Like** + Experience with US multi-state payroll processing practices and procedures strongly preferred. + Strong understanding of federal,stateand local tax regulations including withholding and tax treatment for various deductions. + Strong working knowledge with ADP Tax Service and ADP Smart Compliance. + Demonstrateproficiencywith MS Office Suite, Workday,Salesforceand other web-based tools. + Excellent ability to manage time effectively, meetingdeadlines,and deliverables in a remote environment. + Effective communication skills for interdepartmental collaboration and employee support. **What** **You’ll** **Get**   + The opportunity to work at thecutting edgeof health care delivery with a team that’s deeply invested in the community  + Work-life balance, flexibility, and the autonomy to do great work  + Medical, dental, and vision coverage along with numerous health and wellness programs  + Parental leave and support plus adoption and surrogacyassistance  + Career development programs and tuition reimbursement for continued education  + 401k match including an annual company contribution  + Learn more (https://careers.bluecrossnc.com/global/en/benefits)   **Salary Range** At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.
