Payroll Tax Analyst
Job Title: Payroll Tax AnalystJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Tax Analyst to join our team, supporting payroll tax functions for employees across the United States and Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of payroll taxes, reconciling internal tax data, and maintaining compliance with various tax laws. You will also collaborate with state and provincial agencies to establish new tax withholding accounts for company entities.

ResponsibilitiesMonitor and reconcile employee and employer taxes for multiple company entities in the US and Canada.Research and address refund, penalty, and interest notices from taxing jurisdictions.Resolve payment and filing discrepancies.Develop and maintain a professional relationship with the ADP representative.Prepare monthly journal entries.Reconcile Payroll Tax General Ledger accounts and tax filings, including 941's and W2's.Analyze and balance quarter and annual reports between ADP and SAP.Coordinate amended returns with ADP.Provide excellent customer service to internal and external departments, understanding core business needs and addressing critical issues with urgency.Collaborate with colleagues to promote continuous improvement and process excellence.Manage assigned cases in Service Now to resolve payroll tax inquiries and troubleshoot issues with state and local jurisdictions.Ensure reliable and consistent attendance.Support and participate in activities that promote and implement continuous process improvement.Perform additional work-related tasks as assigned.
Essential Skills3+ years of general Accounting, Payroll Tax, or Payroll experience.At least one year of specific Payroll Tax experience with advanced knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and compliance issues.Experience with SAP and ADP Tax service preferred.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Additional Skills & QualificationsCPP or FPC certification strongly preferred.BS/BA in Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred.Highly motivated, self-directed, and able to take initiative.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy.Ability to recommend and implement process improvements.Comfortable communicating with all levels of employees and external organizations.
Work Environment

The role offers a flexible work environment with 2 days of remote work available after training. Core working hours are flexible between 7-9 AM and 4-6 PM, with an 8-hour shift and a 30-minute or 1-hour lunch break. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Vista, Nebraska.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.28 - $33.65/hr.
