Payroll Specialist (USA)

What you will doPayroll managementProcess biweekly and monthly payroll for multi-store operations, including salary, commission, and incentive-based employees
Verify timecards, overtime, bonuses, and payroll deductions
Administer garnishments, retirement deductions, and tax withholdings
Maintain payroll records and complete regular audits
Support year-end payroll activities and reporting
OnboardingCollect and process new hire paperwork, tax forms, and direct deposit information
Enter employee data into payroll and timekeeping systems
Support benefits enrollment and ensure payroll deductions are set up correctly
Provide payroll guidance during orientation and compliance onboarding
Benefits and offboardingProcess final pay, PTO payouts, and severance when requiredManage benefit terminations and COBRA notifications
Ensure proper documentation and record retention
Compliance and reportingStay current on federal, state, and local payroll and employment regulations
Produce payroll and audit reports for Finance, HR, and leadership teams
Support system updates, enhancements, and process improvements

What you bringStrong understanding of payroll best practices and accounting fundamentals

Ability to manage high-volume payroll in a fast-paced environment
Strong organization and time management skills
Sound judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving ability
Professional and friendly communication style
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
3 or more years of payroll administration experience
Experience with payroll systems, ADP preferred
CPP designation, or actively working toward CPP, is an asset
Automotive dealership experience is an asset
Compensation and benefitsThis position offers an annual base salary range of $30 - $35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
