Payroll Specialist IV
Job Title: Payroll Specialist IVJob Description

This is a remote position operating in the PST timezone that requires a credit check. The Payroll Specialist is a seasoned, customer-focused finance professional who consistently delivers high-quality and timely results. The role demands the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. The position is intended to provide additional support to the existing team.

ResponsibilitiesEnsure timely and accurate processing of payroll, including error resolution, processing validation, and compliance with internal/external policies.Manage transitions to other Payroll Service Providers (PSPs), including parallel testing and reruns.Oversee Outsourced Payroll Service Providers to ensure timely receipt and processing of all information.Verify payroll entries such as new hires, terminations, wage changes, and status changes for 100% accuracy.Reconcile final output files and balance financials with core HR data, approving relevant reports.Conduct research on complex issues or questions with minimal supervision.Build and improve payroll processes, ensuring adequate internal controls and driving efficiencies.Ensure compliance with payroll taxes, stock-based compensation, benefits tax, statutory audits, and internal policies.Assist in auditing and processing monthly payroll, focusing on error resolution and policy compliance.Support the setup of new entities and integration of mergers and acquisitions activities.Participate in regular meetings to drive continuous process improvement.Influence peers and cross-functional teams, building skills to influence stakeholders at the next level.
Essential Skills8+ years of payroll experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.Experience with large, fast-growing multinational companies.Proficiency in Excel and strong computer and analytical skills.Experience with Oracle HCM, SAP Payroll, or similar ERP platforms.Proven track record in delivering projects and process improvements.Excellent teamwork skills, comfortable working as part of a dispersed team.Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accuracy while multitasking.Strong problem-solving skills with a constructive analytical approach.
Additional Skills & QualificationsRelevant payroll qualification such as CIPP or equivalent.Six Sigma Training.Experience with Workday Software, Salesforce, or another CRM program.Proficiency in process mapping using Visio or Lucidchart, and documentation writing.Experience working in large tech companies with more than 50,000 employees, such as Amazon or Google.Understanding of SOX controls and data privacy.
Work Environment

This position is 100% remote and operates within the PST timezone. The work environment is fast-paced and requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data manipulation.

This is a Contract position based out of Menlo Park, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
