This is a remote role requiring work within the PST timezone. The Payroll Specialist is a customer-focused finance professional with a strong track record of delivering high-quality, timely results. The role demands the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. A credit check is required for this position.
Responsibilities
Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant processing of payroll for the employee population, including error resolution, processing validation, and policy compliance.Experience in payroll transitions to other Payroll Service Providers (PSPs) is essential, including parallel testing and reruns.Manage Outsourced Payroll Service Providers to ensure all information is processed in a timely manner.Verify all payroll entries such as new hires, terminations, wage changes, and position changes to ensure 100% accuracy.Reconcile final output files and balance financials with core HR data, approving relevant reports.Conduct research on complex issues with minimal supervision.Build and improve payroll processes, ensuring adequate internal controls and driving continuous process improvements.Ensure compliance with payroll taxes, stock-based compensation, benefits tax, and statutory audits.Assist with auditing and processing monthly payroll, including error resolution and policy compliance.Support the setup of new entities and integration of any mergers and acquisitions activities.Participate in weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings to drive continuous process improvements.Influence team members and cross-functional teams, building skills to influence stakeholders at the next level.Essential Skills
8+ years of payroll experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.Experience with large, fast-growing multinational companies.Proficiency in local payrolls.Excellent team player comfortable working with teams in different locations.Strong computer and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel.Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accuracy while multi-tasking.Ability to engage in constructive analytical problem-solving.Experience with Oracle HCM, SAP Payroll, or similar ERP platforms.Proven track record of delivering projects and process improvements.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Relevant payroll qualification (CIPP or equivalent).Six Sigma training.Experience with Workday software.Process mapping, documentation writing, and SOP development skills.Experience with Salesforce or another CRM program.Knowledge of Sox controls and data privacy.Experience in large tech companies with more than 50,000 employees.CPP certification is a plus.Work Environment
This position is 100% remote, requiring work within the PST timezone. The role involves frequent video calls, daily stand-up meetings, and working off employee questions from the portal. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to work effectively in a virtual team setting.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
