The Payroll Specialist is responsible for performing accounting and administrative duties to support the payroll department. This includes processing hourly and weekly payroll, handling change requests, setting up voluntary deductions, auditing payroll reports, addressing taxes, and resolving payroll issues.
ResponsibilitiesGather information for hourly payroll employees.Input employee information into the payroll system.Set up new hires in the payroll system.Make changes and updates to employee information.Enter employee data including time, banking, and personal information.Manage time effectively to meet mandatory deadlines.Create and import hours reports.Verify and track vacation, personal, and sick days.Distribute employee checks.Prepare the Labor Distribution Report.Address employee questions and issues regarding hourly payroll.
Essential Skills3+ years of administrative experience.1 year of payroll experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry.Experience with Ultipro and UKG.Effective communication and teamwork skills.High level of confidentiality.
Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma required.BA Degree preferred.Understanding of payroll laws.Professional problem-solving abilities.
Work Environment
The role offers a hybrid work environment with the possibility to work one day from home due to payroll responsibilities. Initially, for the first 90 days, the expectation is to be in the office 100% of the time to understand the company culture and have more face time with executives. The accounting team consists of 30 members, including another payroll specialist and a Staff II who report to the new Payroll Manager. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
