Description: The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for processing and submitting payroll within Workday for 2000+ employees in the US; reconcile bi-weekly and weekly payroll reports in accordance to internal controls and audit processes; effectively prioritize assigned job duties and unplanned off-cycle events in order to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Ensure valid and timely transmission of full time bi-weekly and hourly-union payroll for US employee populations (Salary-Exempt, Salary-Nonexempt, Hourly union shift workers and Hourly-Nonexempt)Manage employee payroll data and processes, including entry of employee tax withholdings, deductions, review and reconcile timesheet data, prepare vendor payments and process wage garnishments, retro adjustments and imputed income/ gross up paymentsAudit system generated transaction reports for accuracy and for compliance with policy and standard operating proceduresAudit and reconcile the payroll in accordance to established SOX and internal controls Manage expat payroll entries for both home and host countriesStock, Dividend, and Non-qualified retirement payments (and knowledge of relating tax filing/payment requirements)Accurate and timely payments of all federal, state, and local withholding and unemployment taxes.Quarterly duties which include Multiple Worksite reporting, remitting payroll taxes for locals and states, and balancing quarterly filingsReconcile employee annual W-2 FormsProcess taxable fringe benefits, taxable and non-taxable relocation expensesReview, audit and troubleshoot challenges as it relates to the garnishment process (internal entry, submissions to agencies and third parties)Research and resolve employee payroll inquiries and advise HR and business management of required escalationsProvide customer support to outsourced vendor and employees Act as liaison between payroll department and various departments to ensure understanding of payroll system requirements for certain implementation and trouble-shooting initiativesMaintain working knowledge of organizational policies and procedures and stay current on federal, state, and local payroll regulations/guidelines to ensure complianceParticipate in team/HR projects and continuous improvement initiativesSpecial projects as neededProvide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers, timely and accurate responses to inquiries, and meeting recurring deadlines.Qualifications:
7 years or more of recent payroll processing experienceWorkday experience requiredConsiderable knowledge of: applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines timekeeping, payroll, and salary methods, practices, and procedures, including FLSA laws, overtime and termination regulationsMust be self-motivated with the capability to think and act independently as well as part of a team. Must have strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks, as well as an ability to identify potential risk issues.Strong ability to analyze and resolve payroll discrepanciesIntermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, if/then formula, etc.)Frequently communicates with clients and coworkers and must be able to share information effectively and efficientlyDemonstrate reliability, responsibility, and dependability and fulfill obligationsDynamic and positive attitude to support our culture and work environmentCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification a plusImplementation / system conversion experience a plusTax filing experience, working with ADP Canadian Payroll experience a plusPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $39.00/hr.
