Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Specialist to efficiently manage and process payroll information for union employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. This role requires a proactive individual who can navigate complex payroll systems and provide exceptional customer service.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare and process payroll-related information and adjustments, including retro-active payments for union payroll.Ensure accuracy of payroll related items for union employees.Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.Develop post payroll reporting as needed.Confirm and email appropriate reports and files to internal and external customers.Maintain internal document filing system.Communicate effectively with employees and managers at all organizational levels.Research and answer union employee inquiries using electronic customer service payroll software dashboard.Complete verification of employment and income forms for union employees.Provide information for workers' compensation forms.Print and issue checks weekly . Perform other job duties and projects as assigned.Essential Skills4-5+ years of full cycle payroll experience.Strong understanding of general payroll rules and regulations including garnishments, withholdings, and payroll laws.Proficiency in Excel and Word.Experience with Paycom software is beneficial.Ability to process high volume payrolls (at least 200 weekly).Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with union payroll is advantageous but not required.Ability to approve timesheets, ensure time accuracy, and answer employee questions about timesheets and Paycom or payroll software. Strong attention to detail.Positive attitude and willingness to handle challenging tasks.Comfortable in a demanding, fast-paced environment.Work Environment
The position is based in an office setting with onsite work required on Mondays. A hybrid schedule is possible with a maximum of two remote days per week, subject to managerial discretion. Initial training will be conducted onsite for the first month. The team operates with a high volume of transactions, with payroll processed weekly and occasionally daily. The office is closed only four days a year, requiring work on 361 days. Employees enjoy great benefits.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
