Job Description
As a Payroll Specialist, you will be an integral part of the payroll team, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for employees. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards. You will collaborate with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to maintain payroll data integrity, resolve payroll issues, and implement improvements in payroll processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, acute attention to detail, and extensive payroll system processing experience.
ResponsibilitiesProcess payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and company policies.Ensure payroll operations comply with applicable labor laws and tax regulations, staying current on payroll-related regulations and updating procedures accordingly.Work within the payroll system (ADP) to ensure data accuracy, troubleshoot issues, and recommend process improvements.Conduct regular payroll audits and provide reports on payroll metrics to finance leadership. Assist in internal and external payroll audits as necessary.Handle payroll discrepancies and resolve employee payroll issues promptly. Provide courteous service for payroll-related inquiries.Collaborate closely with HR to maintain accurate employee records, including benefits, deductions, and timekeeping.Essential SkillsMinimum of 5+ years of payroll experience, preferably with multi-state payroll processing.Understanding of payroll regulations, including tax withholding, garnishments, and other payroll-related laws.Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, and SAP.Strong proficiency in Excel, including vlookups and pivot tables.Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is preferred.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work environment, requiring 3 days onsite once acclimated. The role may offer extension and conversion potential, providing room for growth and development within the organization.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
