What you’ll do as a Payroll Specialist + Processes payroll while adhering to federal and state laws and ensures that employee payroll is processed accurately and timely. + Assists with payroll accounting, transactions, reporting, stop payments, and other operations. + Reviews payroll reports and time sheets for correctness before payroll transactions. + Responds to payroll questions in a timely manner. What you’ll need + To be 18 years of age or older. + Authorization to work in the United States for this company. + Be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Ability to read and interpret documents clearly. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively. + Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and commissions. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. + Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations. + Have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Human Resource systems; Internet software; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. + Able to perform the physical tasks required in this position for the entire assigned shift. Physical abilities & exposures + Routinely: sitting, keyboard/mouse use, standing, walking (daily) + Occasionally: lifting (weights up to 40 lbs, rarely) lift & carry (weights of 25lbs, occasionally) Preferred Qualifications + Ad-hoc reporting utilizing Ultimate software. + Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure. + A fast paced learner who loves to learn new systems and processes. + Tech savvy. + Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
