100% Remote Payroll and Benefits Manager (Contract for Maternity Leave)
Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Payroll and Benefits Specialist to oversee and manage the global payroll for our rapidly growing team of over 400 domestic and international employees. This role involves implementing, maintaining, and reviewing all matters related to payroll administration, processing, and reconciliation. You will ensure accuracy, clarity, and competitiveness in payroll operations.
Responsibilities
+ Implement, maintain, and review payroll administration, processing, and reconciliation.
+ Manage systems to process payroll account transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes, and third-party payments.
+ Oversee processing of payroll changes such as new hires, terminations, and raises, and manage system upgrades.
+ Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.
+ Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, liaise with auditors, and manage payroll tax audits.
+ Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions, with a focus on people operations and finance.
+ Manage the relationship with payroll vendors, both domestic and international.
+ Continually improve Finance and HR operations activities related to payroll, vendor relationship management, employment law compliance, and ACA reporting.
+ Build and maintain a good working knowledge of tax legislation, industry standards, and best practices.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of experience as a payroll and benefits specialist or manager at a company with 150-250+ employees.
+ Experience with Payroll and HRIS, particularly with ADP Workforce Now.
+ Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to work under pressure with a high degree of accuracy.
+ Clear and concise communication skills in both oral and written form across teams.
+ Ability to interact comfortably with employees of all levels and use diplomacy and discretion in handling sensitive payroll and benefit matters.
+ BSc/BA in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or a related field.
+ Professional certification such as CPP or CPM is a plus.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience working with third-party payroll processing in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, and/or Macedonia.
+ Experience working with a Professional Employment Organization (PEO).

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
