Job Description
The Payroll Lead will be responsible for obtaining and entering accurate and timely HR information and payroll data into the payroll system. This role involves analyzing and inputting timecard data, maintaining confidentiality of all company, employee, and customer data, and leading 1-2 Certified Payroll Reporting team members. The Payroll Lead will partner cross-functionally with the PM team, co-manage KPIs, process improvements, and efficiency creation, and resolve issues with team members. The role ensures that employee wages are paid in accordance with all applicable collective bargaining agreements and processes various payroll changes. The Payroll Lead is expected to ensure compliance with controls to achieve an error-free payroll, respond to management and employee inquiries, track certified reports for compliance, and manage payroll-related documentation. Building strong relationships with internal and external customers is also a key responsibility.
Responsibilities
+ Lead and supervise 1-2 Certified Payroll Reporting team members.
+ Analyze and input timecard data into computerized payroll system.
+ Ensure employee wages are paid according to collective bargaining agreements.
+ Process payroll changes such as new hires, promotions, terminations, and transfers.
+ Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and employee data.
+ Ensure compliance for prevailing wage jobs by tracking and submitting certified reports.
+ Respond accurately and promptly to management and employee inquiries.
+ Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external customers.
+ Manage master file maintenance, terminations, and garnishment processing.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of payroll experience (must have certified payroll experience)
+ Union experience and certified payroll reporting experience.
+ Proficiency in payroll systems and reconciliation.
+ Experience with prevailing wage and union payroll.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to work cross-functionally with project management teams.
+ Experience in process improvements and efficiency creation.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Work Environment
This is a 100% remote role, allowing the individual to sit in any city or state. However, if the individual is local to one of the company's offices, they are required to work in-office five days a week for the first six months, transitioning to a hybrid schedule thereafter. The role includes leading a team where one member works remotely and the other from the STL office. The position is part of a growing payroll team within an organization experiencing significant growth.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $42.30/hr.
