Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Payroll and Benefits Specialist to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of payroll and benefits operations. The role involves managing payroll processes, benefits administration, and collaborating with the Compensation and Benefits team to enhance system performance.
ResponsibilitiesManage the time and attendance process to ensure timely and accurate transactions.Audit timesheets and monitor schedule changes in the time management system.Process payroll and bonuses accurately and on time.Evaluate and document time and attendance processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.Verify employment status changes and payroll data for accuracy and timely processing.Export and import payroll data from the payroll system into HRIS.Monitor and evaluate the performance of payroll service providers, resolving issues promptly.Run periodic payroll reports and audits, taking corrective action as necessary.Prepare monthly and ad hoc reports with precision and timeliness.Handle all audits and government reports required for payroll data.Collaborate with the Compensation and Benefits team on related projects.Serve as the primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.Administer benefits plans and reconcile monthly invoices for accuracy.Evaluate and revise internal processes for cost reduction and efficiency.Ensure compliance with government regulations and accurate reporting.Supervise benefits processing, including enrollments, COBRA, terminations, and claims.Maintain employee benefits files and update payroll records.Audit staff performance on benefits functions.Coordinate customer service support for internal and external clients.Develop communication tools for understanding the benefits package.Design and distribute materials for benefits orientations and enrollments.Collaborate with HQ personnel on payroll, benefits, and HRIS inquiries.Essential Skills3+ years in Benefits Administration.3-5 years of full-cycle payroll experience.Experience with non-exempt employees.Manufacturing experience.Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now.Expertise in Compensation and Benefits.Knowledge of COBRA, terminations, LOAs, disability, and accident/death claims.Experience with shift differential and non-exempt payroll.Experience in payroll/benefits audits.Multi-state payroll and benefits experience; international preferred.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree required.Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or willingness to obtain certification within 1 year.Work Environment
The position operates within a manufacturing setting, primarily in an office environment. The work hours are from 9 AM to 6 PM, with flexibility as the office opens at 8:30 AM. The role is 100% onsite, reporting directly to the Director of HR. While the office is located within a food manufacturing facility, the Payroll and Benefits Specialist will spend minimal time on the manufacturing floor.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $61200.00 - $83200.00/yr.
