Description Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing & Compliance
Accurately process multi-state payrolls on weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly cycles, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
Review, analyze, and enter payroll data using ADP Vantage or similar platforms.
Manage exceptional payroll transactions including out-of-sequence runs, reversals, reissues, and manual payments.
Coordinate the administration of employee wage garnishments, such as child support orders, tax levies, and other deductions.
Investigate and resolve payroll inconsistencies, including tracking stale checks and processing necessary adjustments.
Provide initial troubleshooting and resolve payroll issues prior to escalating to ADP support.
Process Review & Continuous Improvement
Evaluate current payroll processes and internal controls to pinpoint inefficiencies, risks, and potential improvements.
Develop actionable recommendations for process enhancements and present findings to leadership.
Assist with the implementation and documentation of approved process changes.
Analysis, Reporting & Cross-Functional Support
Generate and support payroll reporting and metrics by leveraging data and system reports.
Collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and business units to provide payroll expertise and insights.
Support department initiatives, including payroll system enhancements and merger/acquisition activities.
Training, Collaboration & Team Support
Actively share expertise, mentor team members, and contribute to ongoing team development.
Serve as a primary payroll contact for designated business units or departments.
Consistently deliver excellent customer service while balancing accuracy, compliance, and tight deadlines.
Qualifications:
Required:
3–5 years’ payroll experience with enterprise payroll systems (ADP experience highly preferred).
Demonstrated experience with multi-state payroll processing and compliance.
In-depth knowledge of wage garnishments and payroll tax regulations.
Proficiency in Excel at intermediate or advanced level.
Ability to manage sensitive/confidential information with discretion.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Skilled at both written and verbal communication.
Team player who thrives in collaborative, customer-oriented environments.
Preferred:
Experience supporting payroll-related projects or assisting with system implementations.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, APA payroll certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requirements
