Payroll Analyst
Job Description This role contributes to Starbucks' success by ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for partners. The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for preparing, validating, and inputting payroll data, while modeling and acting in accordance with Starbucks’ guiding principles. Daily Responsibilities Include: + Cycle processing (on/off cycle, separations) + Partner communication and guidance validation + Identifying process gaps and proposing improvements + Ensuring compliance and stakeholder alignment + Escalating concerns and applying payroll best practices + Supporting partner understanding of payroll processes + Identifying learning opportunities to enhance team expertise Team Interaction: Highly collaborative with cross-functional teams. Candidate Requirements Technology Skills: + Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required) + Smartsheets + SAP (preferred) or other HR software + SuccessFactors (preferred) Experience: + Minimum 2+ years of payroll experience + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills + Excellent written and verbal communication + Experience with full-cycle payroll processing including time entry, separations, banking, garnishments, multi-state payroll, and bonuses + Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines + Strong customer service orientation + Works well independently and in a team environment Nice-to-Haves: + Relevant certifications + Experience with Federal/State/Local or Provincial labor, payroll, garnishment, and tax law Disqualifiers: + Frequent job changes + Poorly formatted resumes or typos + No payroll background + Inability to manage multiple priorities + Not a cultural fit for Starbucks + Lack of full-cycle payroll experience Interview Process + Touchpoint Date: January 13, 2025 + Potential Interview Dates: January 15, 2025 + Interview Format: + Round 1: Conducted by 3 supervisors + Final Round: With team SMEs + Assessment Criteria: + Resume review + Behavioral interview questions + Evaluation of relevant experience + Interview Logistics: + Supplier to send Teams link to manager once time is confirmed in Fieldglass Success Indicators + Timely and accurate payroll processing + Effective communication and collaboration + Proactive problem-solving and process improvement + Positive feedback from internal stakeholders Compliance Notes + All activity must be logged in VMS in real time + Security IDs required upon submittal (MMDDSSSS format) + No sub-contracting allowed for non-IT roles unless pre-approved + Supplier MSA terms apply + Public posting of Starbucks-related information is strictly prohibited Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
