Job Description

We are looking for a meticulous and seasoned Payroll, Benefits, and Compliance Manager to join our People Operations team. This role involves overseeing comprehensive payroll processing and benefits administration, with a particular emphasis on compliance, multi-state tax registration, leave administration (including FMLA and state-specific programs), and payroll audits. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of HR and payroll compliance, excel in a fast-paced environment, and exhibit a strong sense of ownership and responsibility in their work.

ResponsibilitiesProcess biweekly payroll for a multi-state workforce using ADP Workforce Now.Reconcile payroll reports, resolve discrepancies, and ensure proper withholdings.Conduct timecard audits and address variances with managers.Coordinate with Finance and Accounting for GL reconciliation and month-end close.Manage benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, open enrollment, and employee communications.Serve as the primary contact for brokers, vendors, and carriers.Support employees with benefit inquiries and escalate complex issues.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.Maintain multi-state tax registrations and assist with audits.Keep accurate employee records and support audits with documentation.Stay updated on regulations and recommend policy updates.Manage FMLA, state-paid leave programs, and other employee leaves.Track eligibility, notify employees of rights, and coordinate benefits.Liaise with insurance carriers for disability claims and communicate with employees.Essential Skills5+ years of experience in payroll and benefits management across multiple states.Skilled in managing timecard compliance and conducting payroll and benefits audits.Extensive knowledge of FMLA, ACA, COBRA, and tax laws.Proficient in using ADP Workforce Now.Capable of working independently.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with vendor relations (Sequoia, Fidelity, Optum, MetLife, etc.).Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; HR or payroll certification is a plus.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $48.00/hr.
