We are seeking a dedicated Care Coordinator to join our team. This role involves engaging directly with patients to address inquiries about treatment, symptoms, and prescriptions. You will play a vital role in coordinating tests, managing medical records, and facilitating patient care to enhance the overall patient experience.
ResponsibilitiesRespond to patient inquiries via phone regarding treatments, symptoms, and prescriptions.Coordinate and set up tests as requested by physicians, obtain required pre-authorizations, and communicate results to patients.Manage prescription requests, including sending, refilling, and processing written, faxed, or electronic prescriptions.Schedule outgoing referrals and ensure necessary chart information is sent.Request and manage medical records from other physician offices and integrate them into the Electronic Health Records system.Complete and document necessary patient paperwork such as worker’s compensation and FMLA forms in the Electronic Health Records system.Essential SkillsProficiency in electronic health record systemsStrong appointment scheduling skillsExperience in patient care and educationMedical Assistant experienceSkillful in managing inbound and outbound callsEffective scheduling capabilitiesBilingual abilities are a plusExperience in ophthalmologyStrong computer skillsAdditional Skills & Qualifications3+ years of experience as a Medical AssistantB.S. Degree is a plusHigh School Diploma requiredBilingual proficiency is a plusWork EnvironmentThe work schedule is from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with shifts scheduled based on clinic needs, and rarely will start as early or end as late unless the clinic is very busy. Training will be conducted at the administrative building in the Galleria. You will be part of a team of 8 to 24 individuals, with each physician supported by 8 clinic staff members. The work environment is extremely fast-paced, catering to 80-100 patients a day. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs, with strict grooming standards such as short nails and tied-up hair.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bellaire, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
