Patient Access Representative
Description The Patient Financial Advocate's primary function is to perform a thorough financial screening of patients. The Financial Advocate is a primary contact for patient education in areas of insurance benefits, levels of coverage, and billing and collection processes. Responsibilities include... + Ensuring that all accounts have been cleared for billing + Obtaining insurance authorization for services + Securing payment arrangements (including collection of co-payment/coinsurance) prior to patient discharge and for major outpatient services + Identification of other potential payment sources (including Financial Assistance program, initiating/completing the Medical Assistance application process) + Providing costs estimates. Additional Skills & Qualifications - 1-2 yrs work experience as Patient Financial Advocate, Patient Registration, Patient Accounting - Experience in customer service, especially in front end patient interactions regarding financial processes - Must be willing to travel between Maple Grove and Robbinsdale - Must have reliable transportation Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
