Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Survey Party Chief to join our growing team in San Antonio, TX. This role is ideal for a hands-on surveying professional who loves working in the field, takes pride in mentoring others, and enjoys contributing to meaningful infrastructure and civil projects across South Texas. As a Survey Party Chief, you will lead field crews, manage daily survey operations, and ensure accurate, high-quality data collection while fostering a positive and safety-focused team environment.
Must-Have Qualifications
Proven experience using Trimble survey equipment and software
A genuine love for field work and outdoor operations
Strong passion for mentoring and developing junior crew members
Ability to lead a survey crew efficiently while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity
Nice-to-Have Experience
Topographic surveying
Boundary surveying
Construction staking
Experience supporting municipal, TxDOT, or civil infrastructure projects
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise survey crews on a variety of field assignments
Perform and oversee data collection using Trimble equipment
Ensure field work aligns with project specifications and quality standards
Train, mentor, and support survey technicians and crew members
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and office staff
Maintain field equipment and promote safe work practices at all times

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
