We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Survey Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in conducting land surveys for construction, mapping, and other purposes. This role involves working with surveyors, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate data collection and analysis.
ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation and maintenance of survey equipment and instruments.Perform field surveys, including measuring distances, angles, and elevations using total stations, GPS, and other surveying instruments.Collect and record survey data in field books or electronic devices.Assist in the preparation of survey drawings, maps, and reports using CAD software.Conduct research on land records, survey maps, and other legal documents to determine property boundaries.Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure survey requirements are met.Adhere to safety standards and procedures while working in the field.Essential SkillsProficiency in using surveying instruments such as total stations and GPS.Strong mathematical and analytical skills.Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and recording.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or technical certification in surveying, geomatics, or a related field is preferred.Work EnvironmentThis role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and requires the ability to lift and carry survey equipment. The candidate will drive to project sites daily within a 50-mile radius of Clarion, using their own vehicle with mileage reimbursements provided. While field-based, there is no need to report to the office daily and you may leave directly from home. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
