Parts Distribution Center Senior Manager

Position Overview

Our Midwest Parts Distribution Center (PDC) in Joliet, IL is vital to our supply chain, ensuring high-quality parts are delivered with speed and accuracy to our valued customers across the region.


As we grow, we are seeking a motivated and people-centered leader to join our team as a Parts Distribution Center Senior Manager, a servant leader who champions Lean practices, develops others, and builds a high-performance culture based on trust and accountability.


The PDC Senior Manager will lead day-to-day operations at our Joliet Parts Distribution Center and play a strategic role in ensuring operational excellence. This is a hands-on leadership position, ideal for someone passionate about standard work, team development, and continuous improvement.


Responsibilities

As a leader, the PDC Senior Manager is expected to model Normal Situation Leadership, aligned with our Supply Chain & Logistics Operational Principles:

Standardization: Promote consistent, documented processesVisual & Realtime: Use visual management to track and drive live performanceCross-Function Collaboration: Build partnerships across departmentsSustainable Practices: Create improvements that lastBalanced End-to-End Thinking: Align operations with broader company goalsResource Leverage: Maximize use of time, tools, and team talentOversee receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations in compliance with policies, procedures, and safety standardsDrive performance by coaching and mentoring a team of Operation Managers, supervisors and warehouse staffEnforce and improve inventory control processes, including issue resolution and accuracy improvementsMonitor KPIs to ensure safety, service level, and productivity targets are achievedLead and develop warehouse layouts, 5S programs, and housekeeping standardsApply Lean and Kaizen principles to optimize space utilization and workflowFoster a positive and engaged workforce using servant leadership principlesEnsure timely receipt, put-away, and shipment of parts per customer and production schedulesSupport and manage a represented/union workforce with consistency and professionalismCollaborate cross-functionally with supply chain, operations, and quality departmentsCreate and manage the PDC budget and investment plansMaintain documentation to ensure compliance with internal and external standardsChampion a growth mindset, encourage innovation, and empower team accountability
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degreeAt least 10 years of Supply Chain, Logistics, or Distribution/Warehouse experienceAt least 4 years of management experience

OR

Master’s degreeAt least 8 years of Supply Chain, Logistics, or Distribution/Warehouse experienceAt least 4 years of management experience

OR

At least 12 years of Supply Chain, Logistics, or Distribution/Warehouse experienceAt least 4 years of management experience
Additional Requirements

Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills

Experience in warehouse or distribution center management (supervisory experience required)Demonstrated success in Lean, Kaizen, or continuous improvement environmentsExperience leading and developing both hourly and salaried staffStrong leadership, communication, and performance management skillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)Knowledge of TL, LTL, and Parcel shipping, both domestic and internationalExperience managing a represented or union workforce is strongly preferredHigh attention to detail with strong analytical and decision-making abilitiesComfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environmentsExcellent collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionallyStrong commitment to safety, quality, and customer service
