Job Description

We are seeking a Part Time Job Cost Accountant to manage and oversee job cost codes for various residential projects, including custom homes and subdivisions. This role involves allocating costs for labor, materials, subcontractors, permits, and equipment to specific homebuilding projects. You will play a crucial role in monitoring budgets and actual costs, identifying variances, and providing timely reports to project managers and leadership.

ResponsibilitiesSet up and maintain job cost codes for each residential project.Allocate costs for labor, materials, subcontractors, permits, and equipment to specific homebuilding projects.Monitor budgets and actual costs, identifying variances and providing timely reports to project managers and leadership.Collaborate with construction managers and purchasing teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and forecasting.Prepare monthly job cost reports and assist with Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules.Ensure timely and accurate billing, including draws and progress payments.Reconcile vendor invoices and resolve discrepancies related to job costs.Support month-end close and assist with audits and financial reviews.Maintain organized records of all job-related financial transactions and documentation.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).3+ years of experience in job cost accounting, preferably in construction.Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and job costing practices.Proficiency in Sage ERP software (Sage 100, Sage 300 CRE, or Sage Intacct).Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial analysis and reporting.Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with field and office teams.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with cost accounting, accounting, and job costing.Proficiency in Sage Intacct, Sage 100, Sage 300, and Sage CRE300.Skills in cost analysis and month-end processes.Work Environment

This is a part-time and on-site role located at our Bethesda office, requiring 20-25 hours per week. The work environment is collaborative and relationship-centered, emphasizing integrity, innovation, and hands-on involvement in projects. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
