What you'll do The Paralegal provides advanced legal, claims, and operational support across multiple litigation and risk-related matters, serving as a key liaison between internal stakeholders, outside counsel, and insurance carriers. This role coordinates activities across professional liability, employment, and general liability cases, ensuring all pleadings, discovery materials, scheduling orders, document holds, and subpoenas are managed accurately and on schedule. The Paralegal oversees high-volume information intake, triages issues efficiently, and identifies when escalation is required. The Paralegal prepares legal correspondence and other documents regarding litigation and legal matters involving the hospital, reviews documents in response to discovery requests and subpoenas, organizes, and maintains litigation files and pleadings, and compiles data from legal resources. Performs legal research and writing under the supervision of an attorney. Job Responsibilities: Litigation & Dispute Management: + Support litigation workflows, including the tracking and management of pleadings, discovery materials, scheduling orders, document holds, and subpoenas. + Implement and maintain document preservation protocols to ensure legal and regulatory compliance. + Coordinate responses to subpoenas for testimony and document production, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. + Coordination and interaction with multiple outside counsel. Legal Operations: + Assist Chief Legal Officer with respect to maintaining corporate records + Board and Board Committee support + Track and monitor legal projects and deliverables Claims Reporting & Insurance Coordination: + Prepare and submit initial and follow-up notices to insurers across medical malpractice, employment practices liability, and general liability lines. + Maintain organized claims files, track reserves, and document ongoing developments. + Monitor deadlines and reporting requirements to ensure full compliance with carrier requests and policy conditions. Information Management & Communication: + Manage high-volume information intake; perform triage, identify priority issues, and escalate when needed. + Draft concise and accurate summaries, letters, notices, and other written communications. + Serve as a communication point between internal departments, external parties, insurers, and outside counsel. + Handle sensitive clinical, employment, and privileged information with discretion and professionalism. What we need from you Education: + 4 year/Bachelor's Degree (experience condiered) in lieu of eduction), required Experience: + Minimum 5 years of Paralegal experience, preferably in a health system, hospital, required Licensure/Certifications: + Paralegal Certificate, required Skills: + Reliability + Attention to Detail + Build Relationships + Conflict Resolution + Communication + Reading/Writing/Comprehension + Maintain Confidentiality + Accountability Physical Requirements: + Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. Pay Range Minimum: USD $69,245.20/Yr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $103,867.80/Yr.
