The ancestors of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation existed many centuries ago as a community of people…a Tribe living together, farming, hunting and fishing to survive. Job Purpose: Paints a variety of large and small interior and exterior structures Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time). + Paints facilities by cleaning and preparing surfaces for paint application, mixing paints according to established procedure, and applying paint to surfaces with an appropriate tool(s). + Maintains safe and sanitary work and storage areas by setting-up scaffolding and ladders securely, cleaning tools and equipment after use, and storing materials according to established procedures and regulatory requirements. Job Specifications: Education and Experience: Essential: + 4 years of vocational painting experience Desirable: + Certificate of training as a journey worker + Exposure to related trades such as carpentry or construction + Exposure to the casino, hospitality, and/or hotel industry Skills and Knowledge: Essential: + Working knowledge of painting techniques including faux artistry + Ability to identify and mix paints + Ability to use painting tools and equipment + Ability to work from blueprints and schematics and/or verbal and written instructions + Ability to work from heights including ladders, scaffolds, and lifts + Ability to reach, crouch, and bend + Ability to document assignments in a shop log or through a work order system + Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. + Ability to work in a smoking environment + Ability to appear for work on time + Ability to perform mathematical calculations and measurements + Ability to interact effectively with guests and team members + Ability to maintain professionalism and composure + Ability to accept constructive criticism Desirable: + Multi-lingual Supervisory/Managerial Accountability: Direct: None Indirect: None If you enjoy being part of a community dedicated to creating a memorable guest experience, we invite you to explore career opportunities with Sycuan and join our winning team!
