**Job Title: Painter Helper**
**Job Description**
A service and repair company for pumps and rotating equipment is hiring for a painter helper. The role involves prepping paint jobs, painting industrial pumps using a pneumatic air spray gun, and assisting other trades such as mechanics or machinists. This is a great entry-level position with opportunities for growth into higher-level roles within the company.
**Must Haves**
+ 2+ years of mechanical aptitude.
+ Experience in **INDUSTRIAL** paint prep.
+ Experience using a pneumatic paint gun.
+ Ability to assist other departments in the shop.
**Responsibilities**
+ Prepping paint jobs by cleaning, taping, and mixing paint.
+ Painting industrial pumps using a pneumatic air spray gun.
+ Assisting other trades by sandblasting, cleaning, and learning various tasks.
+ Helping with tapping holes and other shop duties as needed.
**Work Environment**
The work takes place in a medium-sized shop filled with parts and pumps due to the high volume of business. The shop is air-conditioned, though space is tight. A move to a larger shop is planned for 2024 or 2025. The day shift operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM and Saturday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with two paid breaks and an unpaid lunch. The night shift runs Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 2:30 AM and Saturday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, also with two paid breaks and an unpaid lunch. Both shifts typically work 50 to 60 hours per week, with occasional Sundays at double time. Employees wear steel-toed boots, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
