**Job Title: Painter**
**Job Description**
As a painter, you will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality finishes on various parts by communicating effectively with team members, understanding customer requirements, and meticulously following work orders and documentation. Your expertise in using measuring tools, mixing paint colors, and applying decals will be essential in achieving the desired results.
**Responsibilities**
+ Communicate with team members to understand customer requirements and expectations.
+ Read and understand work orders, drawings, and other documentation prior to finishing and painting.
+ Use measuring tools to layout and mask parts according to prints.
+ Mix paint colors per samples provided or by pantone number using in-house color matching system.
+ Apply decals according to prints.
+ Fill holes or gaps with appropriate patching materials to prepare parts for priming.
+ Understand and preserve part geometry throughout the finish process.
+ Buff and polish parts as needed to achieve the desired finish.
+ Recognize and communicate any issues within the process, such as warped parts or contamination.
+ Prime, paint, and clear coat parts using lacquers, primers, synthetic enamels, polyurethane, and epoxy with proper techniques and HVLP equipment.
+ Colormatch, blend, and touch up parts as needed.
+ Disassemble, clean, and maintain paint guns and related equipment.
+ Work closely with sales, project managers, and customers to achieve specialty finishes.
+ Follow operational procedures at all times.
+ Adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in color matching and blending techniques.
+ Experience with HVLP equipment.
+ Ability to read and interpret 2D prints.
+ Regularly lift up to 30 pounds and often up to 50 pounds.
+ Auto painting skills often translate well to this role.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Problem-solving abilities are beneficial as some objects may require ingenuity to paint.
+ Familiarity with 3D CAD systems.
**Work Environment**
This role requires wearing a mask, fresh air breathing apparatus, or other safety equipment when working with paint products emitting hazardous vapors. The position involves standing, stooping, and bending for at least 8 hours per day and demands manual dexterity to operate common paint and finishing tools. The environment involves exposure to hazards or physical risks, requiring adherence to safety precautions, and may include exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and unpleasant odors. Employees must be able to visually read work instructions, gauges, and monitors, and regularly lift up to 25 pounds, frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seattle, Washington.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
