**Job Title: Painter Level 2**
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Painter Level 2 to join our dynamic team. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment where teamwork is essential. The ideal candidate will be responsible for determining daily production requirements and ensuring correct sections are selected for painting. A key part of this role is performing visual inspections to ensure even paint coverage and correct color application. The candidate will also be responsible for taping door sections, stacking sections to dry, and troubleshooting any quality errors. Additional responsibilities include delivering completed sections to the shipping area, maintaining a clean work area, and performing routine preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities
+ Work collaboratively in a small, interdependent team.
+ Determine daily production requirements and ensure correct sections are painted.
+ Perform visual inspections for even paint coverage and correct color application.
+ Ensure paint is dry before final packaging.
+ Tape door sections according to visual instructions and stack sections to dry.
+ Identify, troubleshoot, and report any quality errors.
+ Deliver completed sections to shipping and keep work area clean.
+ Remove masking materials and ensure no residues remain.
+ Perform routine preventive maintenance as needed.
+ Assist with commercial secondary operations as required.
Essential Skills
+ Full functional knowledge of all door types, colors, stamping patterns, and textures.
+ Thorough quality inspection before painting, including defect inspection.
+ Expertise in specialized preparations for painting.
+ Accurate window installation post-painting.
+ Labeling with high accuracy.
+ Reading run sheets and preparing sections as per schedule.
+ Operation of plasma and treatment machines.
+ Mixing paint colors and monitoring paint aging.
+ Training others in paint mixing and machine operation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Ability to handle multiple tasks.
+ Certification in various paint and primer types, renewed annually.
+ Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
+ Basic computer skills, including MS Office.
+ Professional verbal and written communication skills.
+ Experience with Oracle / Enterprise One is a plus.
+ 1-2 years or more experience in a painting booth and paint machinery maintenance.
+ 3-5 years or more experience in a painting booth and paint mixology.

Work Environment
The role is based in a paint booth on the production floor. The work environment requires the use of personal protective equipment, including steel-toed safety shoes, gloves, a full paint suit, and a respirator. The job involves standing for the entire shift, with frequent stooping, bending, and lifting. Lifting and carrying tasks may be continuous and require teamwork for heavier loads. Training will be provided for safe handling and movement of materials.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Lawrence, Kansas.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $42120.00 - $42120.00/yr.
Benefits include Medical/Dental/Vision, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays from day one, tuition reimbursement, and a 401k plan (with an automatic 3% company contribution, regardless of your contribution after your first year of employment) among others.

This is a fully onsite position in Lawrence,KS.
