**Job Title: Paint Prep Technician**
**Job Description**
The Paint Prep Technician is responsible for preparing all pieces and products for paint while maintaining high-quality standards. This role involves assisting the Lead Painter in preparing products for paint and ensuring the work area remains clean and organized.
**Responsibilities**
+ Assist the Lead Painter in preparing products for paint.
+ Perform light bodywork, sanding, blocking, filing, and priming to prepare products.
+ Place products on movable platforms for painting.
+ Move and stage painted products in the drying room.
+ Oversee paint and prep material inventory.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area.
+ Communicate ideas and issues in a timely manner.
+ Ensure high-quality standards are met.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in painting and paint preparation.
+ Proficiency in masking and taping.
+ Skill in metal sanding and using hand tools such as grinders and sanders.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Preferred prior experience in paint preparation and/or painting.

**Work Environment**
This role is situated in a manufacturing environment within the metal industry, working alongside 80 other employees. Safety is a priority, requiring steel toe boots and safety glasses. The work hours are from 6 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, Texas.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.00/hr.
