**Job Title: Paint Prep worker** Job Description As a Paint Prep Technician, you will be responsible for preparing all products for painting, which includes tasks such as taping, priming, washing, and grinding welds to ensure smooth surfaces. Responsibilities + Prepare products for painting by taping, priming, washing, and grinding. + Operate paint booths and handle tasks such as grinding, blasting, and washing. + Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and follow instructions. + Perform basic computer data entry and read blueprints and measuring devices. + Rotate between multiple machines and jigs within the job area as needed. + Manually move products and materials up to 50 lbs, and use overhead hoists to push and pull up to 100 lbs on pallet jacks. + Stand, kneel, crouch, and work in various positions on concrete, ladders, and dump bodies for extended periods. Essential Skills + Experience in paint preparation, including taping, masking, grinding, and blasting. + Ability to operate paint booths and handle washing tasks. + Proficiency in reading job specifications, blueprints, and measuring devices. + Basic computer skills for data entry. + Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and bending up to 50 lbs. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Entry-level position requiring 6 months of prior production or paint prep experience. + Proficiency in reading a tape measure. + Comfortable using an overhead lifting device. + Ability to perform basic math functions. Work Environment Work in a large open factory/plant floor with dim lighting due to welding stations. The facility includes large overhead cranes and offers good ventilation. Expect a heavy industrial atmosphere with exposure to grease, oil, heat, humidity, cramped quarters, and possibly wet conditions. Shifts available include 1st shift, weekend shift, and 2nd shift. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $24.00/hr.
