**Job Title: Paint Line Technician**
Job Description
The Paint Line Technician position offers a fantastic opportunity for growth within a dynamic company. This role operates on a 1st shift schedule, comprising 10-hour workdays from Monday to Thursday, with potential overtime of 8-10 hours on Fridays. Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED. The position involves a diverse range of responsibilities, ensuring that each day is unique and engaging.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, parts replacement, and repair, along with routine maintenance.
+ Diagnose and maintain paint processes, ensuring the line remains operational.
+ Oversee washing areas, ovens, chemical checks, temperature checks, and nozzle inspections.
+ Ensure that parts such as hooks are properly maintained and that the line is oiled and greased.
+ Change ten spray valves daily and order products or parts as needed.
+ Check pumps and complete daily checklists.
+ Control chemical mixtures, applications, and distribution of paint/powder.
+ Report abnormalities in the paint process and suggest corrective actions.
+ Troubleshoot paint booth operations and resolve non-compliant processes.
+ Meet with engineers and production teams regarding new paint processes and implementation.
+ Modify work instructions as necessary.
+ Support and substitute for the Paint Line Team Leader when needed.
+ Train and onboard new painters, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
+ Serve as a backup painter as necessary.
+ Responsible for all respirator fit testing and maintenance, including inspection logs and filter changes.
+ Serve as a backup material handler and in the assembly process as needed.
+ Perform daily checks on preventive maintenance and adhesion and cure tests.
+ Order all chemicals, masking supplies, and filters for the department.
Essential Skills
+ Strong mechanical competence and attention to detail.
+ Proficiency in problem-solving and troubleshooting.
+ Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
+ Experience with paint application, batching, and paint booth operations.
+ Training and communication skills.
+ Competence with inspection equipment and preventative/corrective maintenance.
+ Familiarity with hand and power tools, powder coat painting, material handling, and assembly.
+ Proficient in using a Personal Computer and Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Ability to follow safety policies and procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Previous powder coating training is a plus.
+ Experience with liquid painting is advantageous.
+ Understanding of restricted access folders and 'Controlled Sensitive Material'.
+ Experience in training new paint line hires.
+ Respirator fit testing and training experience.
+ Ability to serve as a backup across various departments, including assembly and material handling.

Work Environment
The role operates on a 1st shift from 6 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Thursday, with optional work on Fridays. The workplace is clean, though it can get hot in the summer. Fans are provided at workstations for comfort. The facility employs 140 individuals across two shifts.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
