Job Title: Packaging Operator
Job Description

The Packaging Operator is responsible for the final packaging of flavors, including powders, spray dry, liquids, emulsions, and extracts, following directions on each batch ticket. This role collaborates closely with Batch Processors to ensure food safety, quality, efficiency, and accuracy. The operator may also handle machinery such as mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks, and must be able to read labels and follow safety procedures.

ResponsibilitiesPackage the correct finished product quantity with the correct label.Monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.Record operational and production data as specified.Transport materials, supplies, and products between work areas using equipment and sit-down forklifts.Understand and emphasize the impact and importance of food safety in our products.Communicate any food safety concerns to shift leads or management.Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including sanitation of equipment after each batch.Essential SkillsAbility to operate machinery such as mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks.Ability to read labels and follow safety procedures.Communication skills to report food safety concerns.Experience with packaging in a manufacturing environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsH.S. Work Environment

This is a Food GMP environment where candidates must be comfortable with strong flavors and scents. Safety attire includes steel toe shoes, hair nets, and uniforms, with no jewelry allowed. Employees receive a locker for their belongings. The work involves handling various weights, such as moving 50lb boxes or 25-30lb containers, often using equipment like hand trucks for maneuvering rather than lifting. Tasks are rotated to ensure a balanced workload.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wauconda, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
