Job Title: Packaging Operator
Job Description

The Packaging Operator plays a critical role in the production of extended shelf life dairy products by performing required operating procedures, running, and troubleshooting production equipment. This position ensures satisfaction among customers, team members, and vendors by maintaining high standards in production, safety, quality, performance, and cost.

ResponsibilitiesAchieve assigned goals in production, safety, quality, performance, and cost.Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and clean all assigned equipment according to standard operating procedures.Clear jam-ups and restore production line operation.Set up, operate, and clean equipment such as bailers, trash compactors, and foamers, completing all required documentation.Perform ongoing product quality control checks.Notify others of mechanical malfunctions to enhance productivity and equipment capabilities, and identify areas where operators can assist in resolving concerns.Comply with GMPs, SOPs, corporate and plant policies, rules, and regulations.Support all production facility areas as assigned and begin training in key areas such as fillers, forklifts, and production lines.Gain competence in online circuits and ensure proper hookups in the facility.Cover breaks, lunches, and other staffing needs as assigned.Comply with all legal requirements regarding dairy processing and safety during assigned shifts.Report safety concerns promptly and take corrective actions to ensure a safe environment.Report food safety problems, initiate actions, and support SQF by maintaining food safety and quality.Ensure sanitary work areas and strictly adhere to sanitation practices.Communicate effectively between shifts and departments.Essential SkillsAbility to apply basic to complex mathematical concepts.Effective communication skills in English for job functions.Knowledge of weights and measures.Ability to respond to employee, vendor, and customer inquiries.Understanding of the company's mission, purpose, and goals.Ability to operate facility equipment as required.Completion of company training requirements.Ability to interpret company documents and UPC/code information.Additional Skills & QualificationsSpecial language skills may be preferred when there is a business need.Why Work Here?

The work environment is generally protected from weather changes, though exposure to hot, cold, wet, and humid conditions may occur. Employees may be exposed to food ingredients, including allergens, and chemicals used in food processing and sanitation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Syracuse, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.75 - $20.75/hr.
