Job Title: Packaging Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a Packaging Mechanic who is eager to learn and grow within a rapidly expanding pharmaceutical packaging company. This role involves the operation, repair, and maintenance of packaging equipment, such as bottling, blistering, and bundling systems. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production-related equipment, including cartoners, wrappers, tube fillers, case packers, and palletizers.
Responsibilities
Repair packaging equipment as needed.Perform regular and preventive maintenance of packaging equipment to eliminate unscheduled downtime.Conduct efficient and timely changeovers.Ensure all work complies with cGMPs, housekeeping, safety practices, and environmental regulations.Participate in team processes and maintain good relationships with customers, suppliers, and employees.Initiate purchases of required tools, parts, and materials, maintaining accountability for issued tools/parts.Upgrade skills and knowledge as equipment and technology develop.Demonstrate a personal commitment to quality craftsmanship and job ownership.Notify Supervisor of mechanical breakdowns that will take twenty minutes or more to repair.Report health and safety hazards to the immediate supervisor or EHS Department and make appropriate repairs.Diagnose, rebuild, modify, and repair packaging equipment.Make recommendations for equipment upgrades and modifications.Essential Skills
Ability to troubleshoot and repair production machinery.Experience in a manufacturing environment.Mechanical and electrical aptitude.Experience with packaging machinery.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma or GED.Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Training in the repair and maintenance of production/manufacturing equipment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Totowa, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
