Packaging Mechanic
**Job Title: Packaging Mechanic** **Job Description** This role involves skilled mechanical and electrical work in the maintenance and repair of packaging equipment. The position requires working independently or with minimal supervision, applying mechanical and electrical knowledge and considerable independent judgment in the repair, overhaul, and remanufacturing of plant equipment. **Responsibilities** + Maintain and repair processing and building equipment such as conveyors, fillers, sealers, sifters, grinders, tablet compression and encapsulation equipment, vacuum & hydraulic pumps, air compressors. + Install new machines, participate as a key member of the training team with vendors, and perform trial runs (iQ/OQ/PQ). + Conduct mechanical and electrical work for both manufacturing and packaging equipment. + Follow all FDA/OSHA workplace regulations. + Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical components of manufacturing equipment like compression (tablet press), blenders, and encapsulation machines. + Perform and document work according to SOP and GMP guidelines. + Handle equipment tied to the building, including pneumatics and hydraulics, and perform preventive maintenance. + Read and interpret schematics and blueprints for repair work. **Essential Skills** + Mechanical competence in tablet coaters, compression machines, blenders, and granulation machines. + Experience with encapsulation or compression machines, fluid bed dryers, room-sized V-blenders, smaller mixers and granulation blenders with screens, dust collectors, and air handling systems. + Clean room experience. + Experience with coating machines and coating guns. + Knowledge of high voltage systems (480 /3 phase). **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in beads manufacturing equipment is a plus. + HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting, pneumatic, boilers, compressed air systems, pumps, hydraulic and mechanical systems knowledge required. + PLC knowledge is a plus. + Skill in recognizing and addressing safety issues. + Quality and compliance vigilance. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $89440.00/yr.
