(1st Shift) Packager / Bander - $18+

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Packager to join our team on the first shift from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. As a Packager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our steel products are packaged according to customer specifications. This position involves working in an industrial environment, primarily on your feet, while managing packaging operations efficiently.

ResponsibilitiesWork on the end of the packaging line, standing for the entire shift.Package steel by banding large plates to meet customer specifications.Learn customer requirements per order, including skidded wood runners, banding needs, and waterproof paper usage.Collaborate with another packager to package 50-100 bundles a day.Handle steel plate/sheet bundles weighing 2,000-5,000 lbs.Lift and transport bundles once they are completed.Use plastic banding for 99% of packaging tasks.Read work instructions and coordinate with the team lead.Operate a stacker machine, load coils, and make skids.Utilize hand tools, nail guns, and staplers in daily operations.Operate overhead crane and tow motor.Essential SkillsPackaging and general labor experience.Proficiency with hand tools and general production tasks.Experience in steel manufacturing.Crane operation and overhead crane skills.Ability to lift 50 lbs.Forklift operation knowledge.Additional Skills & QualificationsSteel toe boots are required.Experience working in a fast-paced environment.Experience in steel manufacturing is a plus.Overhead crane experience is a plus.Packaging steel experience is a plus.Forklift experience is a plus.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment is a steel manufacturing setting, which can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The facility features large garage doors to accommodate semi trucks for loading and unloading products.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
