Job Title: Packaging Engineer (Contractor) – Oral Care
Location: 8700 Mason Montgomery Road
Job Type: Contractor (Category 1 – up to 500 hours this fiscal year, limit <1000 hours)
**About the Role**
+ We are seeking an experienced Packaging Scientist / Engineer to join our Oral Care team as a contractor. The role will focus primarily on packaging material savings projects while supporting end-to-end packaging development, qualification, and optimization initiatives.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Lead and manage the complete packaging development process, including packaging design, prototype development, and performance testing.
+ Execute package material qualifications at suppliers and packing validations at P&G plants.
+ Initiate, author, and align on technical documentation (protocols, reports, technical justifications).
+ Troubleshoot packaging issues related to designs, materials, and processes, providing creative and cost-effective solutions.
+ Collaborate with suppliers, engineering, operations, and sourcing teams to ensure packaging quality and compliance.
+ Analyze packaging drawings and specifications; recommend improvements and efficiency tools.
+ Drive cost-saving initiatives across packaging materials, labor, transportation, and storage.
+ Work closely with manufacturing to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability
+ Ensure packaging deliverables meet aligned timelines and business objectives.
**Must-Have Qualifications:**
+ Proven experience in the development and qualification of bottles and closures.
+ Strong background as a Packaging Scientist / Engineer.
+ 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
**Nice-to-Have Skills:**
+ Experience with ISBM PET bottles and child-resistant closures.
+ Project management and leadership across multi-disciplinary teams.
