Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Pharmacist to review Medicaid members’ Utilization Management requests, including formulary exceptions, prior authorization, step therapy, and quantity limit exceptions. This role requires detailed-oriented work and the ability to provide clinical judgment and effective communication. Regular interaction with healthcare providers is also a key part of this position.

Responsibilities

Review and evaluate Medicaid members’ Utilization Management requests.Apply clinical judgment to determine the approval or denial of prior authorizations based on client-specific criteria.Communicate regularly with healthcare providers to discuss Utilization Management requests.Participate in monthly video calls with the supervisor and maintain daily communication with coworkers, technicians, and pharmacists.

Essential Skills

Two years of experience in retail, managed care, or clinical pharmacy.Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science Pharmacy degree.Current pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy in the relevant state.Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Strong drive to deliver results and work independently.Ability to make clinical decisions independently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Proficient in learning new computer systems and basic IT troubleshooting.Experience with Pharmacy Benefits Management preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.Ability to type at least 35 words per minute.Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Oklahoma City, OK.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $55.00/hr.
