Overview
JOB PURPOSE
The primary responsibility of this position is to facilitate and deliver high-quality learning experiences that address Overhead Electrical technical, regulatory, and safety requirements through a blended learning approach. This supports the effective design and development of instructional solutions. The role contributes to training in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of field operations equipment. The primary focus is for the Lineman discipline, while support extends to other areas including Substation, Network or Underground, Metering, DER, and Relay Test. The role serves as a technical subject matter expert.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
• Coordinate the review of new or revised documents, work procedures, and training with Safety, Engineering Standards, Training, and other groups so that all new equipment coming onto system can be safely maintained and operated as per design.
• Keep up to date on training developments to ensure innovation and latest learning requirements and ideas are incorporated into RIE technical training programs
• Support engineering and field operations to construct equipment mock-ups and simulations for development of procedures and associated training content.
• Facilitate communication and adoption of work procedures through committee participation, presentations, process improvement meetings, and roadshows.
• Support new RIE technology initiatives.
• Oversee learning records administration including monitoring course completions, attendance, assessments, and qualifications; administer testing and conduct physical and technical assessments.
• Fulfill assigned emergency and storm roles, which may require after-hours work during company response efforts. This is activated during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service.
• Optional participation in supervisory On-Call rotation for emergency off-hour coverage.
• Comply with all safety-sensitive driving requirements as applicable.

In the case of remote work, physical presence in the office/on-site may be required to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Associate level: Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience on a year for year basis. Specialist level: Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline plus 2 years of experience in Electric Utility field work (Journeyman equivalent) or equivalent combination of education and experience on a year for year basis. Senior Level: Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline plus 5 years of experience in Electric Utility field work (Journeyman equivalent) or equivalent combination of education and experience on a year for year basis. Lead level: Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline plus 7 years of experience in Electric Utility field work (Journeyman equivalent) or equivalent combination of education and experience on a year for year basis. Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Power Point, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.*Candidates hired into level commensurate to their education and experience.
