Position Purpose:
The Home Depot Outside Sales Representative Training Program offers the opportunity to develop sales skills and gain hands-on experience by working in a variety of job rotations that directly impact our Pro business. The Home Depot Outside Sales Representative Trainee will learn day-to-day sales operations and gain exposure to our distributions centers, stores, inside sales, and outside sales environments while driving incremental Pro growth for one of the world’s leading retailers. This position will enhance consultative selling skills with hands-on experiences, including real-world scenarios, simulations, job shadowing, and provide professional development opportunities including networking events, leadership exposure, and dedicated mentoring.
Key Responsibilities:
20% - Cross-Functional Collaboration and Mentorship - Participate in meetings across the Pro business, gaining exposure to cross-functional business units. Build networking relationships and receive mentoring and coaching from direct manager and rotation managers.10% - Formal Training - Complete weekly and monthly professional development training by set deadlines, including instructor-led selling courses and eLearning.70% - On-the-Job Training - Shadow and collaborate with Pro associates in stores, distribution centers, inside sales, and outside sales functions. Support the Pro customer in a variety of functions, including in-aisle, inbound and outbound selling, transactions, generating qualified leads, sales analysis, and account management.

Travel Requirements:
Typically requires overnight travel 5% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
Working Conditions:
Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
