Outreach Support Worker Female* *Genuine occupational requirement Equality Act 2010, Sch 9, Pt 1, Para 1 37 hrs pw 22,937 plus up to 6% Stakeholder pension contribution We wish to recruit an experienced practitioner to deliver outreach and support services to women who present with complex needs and those considered at risk of offending. Picture New Dawn New Day offers gender-responsive support services for women who present with complex needs. By complex needs we mean women who may have a history of offending, substance misuse, homelessness, domestic and sexual violence and abuse, poor mental health, lack of education and low or no qualifications, children who are subject to safeguarding, poverty, debt and unemployment. We deliver a range of interventions including 1-2-1 advocacy and support Counselling and psychotherapy Group programmes such as the Freedom Programme, art therapy, emotional management, stress reduction, parenting etc. The Outreach Support Worker is a key role providing holistic one-to-one support to women who face multiple disadvantage and exclusions. Funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund, this particular post will concentrate on early intervention, working with those women whose circumstances place them at risk of entering the criminal justice system. Assertive and empathic, you have significant experience of working with women with complex needs. A thorough understanding of trauma, risk and safeguarding is essential as well as experience of delivering effective interventions on a one-to-one basis and also in small groups. You will also have excellent networking skills and be able to engage key partners in the delivery of the service.
