Department Overview:
The Outbound Transportation Administrator supports the daily operations of outbound logistics, ensuring shipments are scheduled, documented, and executed in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role focuses on administrative accuracy, timely processing of shipping documents, coordination with carriers, and maintaining records for performance tracking.
What You’ll Do:
Shipment Processing & Documentation
Prepare and verify bills of lading, customs paperwork, and export documentation.Ensure all shipping documents are complete, accurate, and compliant with legal and regulatory standards.Maintain shipment files and records in transportation management systems (TMS) and ERP.Coordination & Communication
Liaise with carriers, warehouses, and internal departments to confirm shipping schedules.Support customers and sales teams with shipping status, documentation requests, and order-related inquiries.Assist transportation coordinators/managers with load planning and execution.Tracking & Reporting
Monitor outbound shipments and update systems with the current status.Escalate delays, discrepancies, or issues to transportation management.Compile reports on transportation activities, costs, and carrier performance.Compliance & Accuracy
Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and government regulations.Verify carrier compliance with contractual obligations and service levels.Audit shipping data and documentation for accuracyYou’ll Need to Have:
Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or equivalent experience1–3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain administrationFamiliarity with transportation documentation (domestic and/or international)Knowledge of ERP/TMS/WMS systems (preferred)Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Key Skills
