Otr Truck Driver
**Job Title: Truck Driver** **Job Description** As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for checking the delivery schedule and receiving assignments from your supervisor. You will operate company-owned and leased tractors and trailers to facilitate shipping and receiving operations, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and DOT safety rules. Your role involves connecting and disconnecting semi-trailers and hoses properly, backing trailers into docks or unloading areas as instructed by customers, and unloading products according to customer instructions. It is crucial to make customer deliveries safely and on time while providing outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations. Additionally, you will perform required inspections before, during, and after trips, complete necessary paperwork, report deficiencies to the Shipping Clerk, and maintain accurate and current daily logs. **Responsibilities** + Check delivery schedule and receive assignment from supervisor. + Operate company-owned and leased tractors and trailers. + Obey all traffic laws and DOT safety rules. + Connect and disconnect semi-trailer and hoses properly. + Back trailers into dock or unloading area as instructed by customer. + Unload product according to customer instructions. + Make customer deliveries safely and on time. + Perform outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations. + Perform required inspections before, during, and after trips. + Complete required paperwork and report deficiencies. + Maintain accurate and current daily logs. + Call in daily to update traffic manager on current status. **Essential Skills** + Valid CDL with 2 years of experience. + Complete DOT file on record per company policy. + Pass a DOT physical prior to hire and annually. + Trained (licensed) in safe operation of equipment. + Familiarity with DOT and Motor Vehicle laws and regulations. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Ability to interpret packing slips and loading tallies. + Ability to travel with potential overnight stays. + Familiarity with loading techniques and procedures. + Knowledge of common material handling equipment (forklifts, badgers, hand carts). **Why Work Here?** We offer competitive compensation with bonuses for short trips and additional stops.
