Order Entry Clerk

Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Order Entry Specialist is to provide outstanding customer service by assisting in the customer order process, product delivery, and after-sale service. This role will focus primarily on managing email orders to ensure a seamless buying experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service to meet and exceed customer expectations.Assist in maximizing the efficiency of the customer order process.Complete assigned tasks to the best of ability within the specified time.Enter customer orders accurately and efficiently into the company's computerized order processing system.Maintain an in-depth awareness of different branch operations and their interrelations.Cooperate seamlessly with showroom, warehouse, and slab sales personnel.Ensure all commitments made to customers and coworkers are reasonable and achievable.Work collaboratively within a team environment.Stay informed about competitors and their products.Keep updated on new products, discontinued products, and products with supply issues.Engage in problem-solving by actively listening to clients and coworkers.Balance ongoing projects with immediate demands of the order desk.

Essential Skills

Customer service orientation.Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office.Order entry experience (2+ years of order entry/email customer service).Technical proficiency in data entry.Ability to manage time effectively while prioritizing multiple tasks.Proficiency in calculating figures and amounts such as discounts and interest, and applying basic algebra concepts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with internal hardware (Profit21 system training provided).Ability to work well under pressure.Bilingual in Spanish.Experience in freight, LTL, deliveries, or logistics.Experience in server or upscale retail customer service.Experience in the tile or interior design industry.

Work Environment

The role requires working onsite at a desk behind the showroom, alongside up to five other order desk clerks. Work hours are from 7:25 am to 5 pm with a 30-minute lunch break and two 10-minute breaks. One to two Saturdays per month are required, typically 4-5 hours, with the option of two days off per week if working Saturday. The office environment is clean and well-maintained, fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere with opportunities for career advancement. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
