As an Orbital Welder, you will perform orbital and hand welding on stainless steel and aluminum vacuum fittings, ranging from 1/8” to 1/2” in diameter. You will set up, operate, and perform mechanical changeovers on orbital weld systems and Swagelok welding machines, ensuring all products meet customer requirements and workmanship standards.
ResponsibilitiesFit, align, and weld products to meet customer requirements and specifications.Work from schedules, shop orders, blueprints, and product specifications.Measure and verify dimensions using approved inspection tooling and hand gauges.Identify deviations that can potentially interrupt productivity.Inspect first-article pieces in accordance with engineering blueprints.Consistently maintain performance levels for quality and quantity.Prioritize work and execute to meet production schedules.Collaborate with team members to uphold departmental standards, including quality and on-time delivery goals.Support advanced welding processes in collaboration with Engineering.Maintain clean and organized work areas, adhering to safety and cleanroom requirements, and practice 5S.Maintain logs and necessary documentation.May train or assist less skilled technicians and operators.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential Skills2-4+ years of manufacturing or related experience, with a preference for experience in the semiconductor industry.3+ years of orbital welding or related welding experience.Proficiency with orbital welding equipment and safe operating practices.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and documents.Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to recognize deviations from accepted practices.Basic understanding of mechanics, flow control elements, and MRP concepts.Mechanically inclined with strong manual dexterity and visual acuity.Additional Skills & QualificationsMini-head welding experience is a plus.Basic computer skills.Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety.Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to handle fragile products and perform repetitive tasks.Why Work Here?Join a rapidly expanding industry where your work will impact the future.
