Oracle APEX Developer

What We're Looking For:

We are looking for a skilled Oracle APEX Developer to join our development team. This role focuses on building new low-code web applications using Oracle Application Express (APEX) and providing ongoing support and enhancements to existing applications. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather and refine requirements, translate them into robust, user-friendly, production-ready solutions, and ensure applications align with organizational needs. The position emphasizes hands-on development, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality, scalable applications that drive business efficiency.

What You'll Do:

Design, develop, test, and deploy new Oracle APEX applications based on business requirements and specifications. Support and enhance existing APEX applications, including troubleshooting, bug fixes, performance tuning, and implementing feature improvements. Work directly with business users, analysts, and stakeholders to understand current processes, gather detailed requirements, identify pain points, and propose APEX-based solutions. Translate business needs into technical designs, including UI/UX layouts, data models, workflows, and integrations. Build responsive, secure, and maintainable applications using APEX components such as Interactive Reports, Interactive Grids, Charts, Forms, Dynamic Actions, RESTful Services, and Automations. Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure applications meet quality standards and are production-ready. Optimize application performance, implement security best practices (e.g., authentication, authorization, row-level security), and adhere to coding standards. Document technical designs, application configurations, and user guides for knowledge transfer and ongoing maintenance. Stay current with Oracle APEX releases, features (including AI-assisted development and workflow capabilities in recent versions), and best practices to recommend improvements.

What You Need to Succeed:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience considered. 5+ years of hands-on experience developing web applications with Oracle APEX (including recent versions such as 22.x, 23.x, or 24.x+). Strong proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and database design/performance tuning. Experience collaborating with business teams to elicit requirements and deliver solutions that meet user expectations. Solid understanding of web development concepts, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles. Proven ability to deliver production-ready applications with a focus on usability, security, and maintainability.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), including Forms, OAF, EBS APIs, data models, and customizations/extensions. Familiarity with Oracle Cloud technologies, such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS), or Oracle APEX in cloud environments. Knowledge of integration patterns, REST/SOAP web services, and connecting APEX applications to other Oracle or third-party systems. Experience with advanced APEX features like Workflow, Automations, Mobile-friendly apps, or embedded JavaScript/CSS customization. Prior exposure to full lifecycle development in enterprise settings, including version control, CI/CD practices, and agile methodologies. Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle APEX Developer) or related credentials are a plus. Excellent communication skills for interacting with non-technical stakeholders and presenting solutions.
