Job Description:

We are seeking four motivated individuals to join our dynamic team as medical scribes. Multiple positions are available with varying FTEs. The UF Student Health Care Center (SHCC) Medical Scribe Program was established in 2018 and has since supported attending physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in delivering comprehensive patient care across a wide range of clinical needs.

The Opportunity

Medical scribes support providers by preparing and assembling accurate medical documentation prior to patient visits.

During patient encounters, the scribe accompanies the physician/clinician into the exam room and documents the visit in real-time using EPIC, our electronic medical record system. This includes accurately capturing the history of present illness, review of systems, physical exam findings, diagnostic results, treatment plans, and provider-patient interactions using appropriate medical terminology. Under the provider’s direction, the scribe may update patient history, document follow-up instructions, and assist with additional clerical tasks to enhance provider efficiency and patient flow.

Scribes must maintain a professional and discreet demeanor at all times, interacting sensitively with both internal staff and external patients. Strict adherence to HIPAA and University of Florida confidentiality policies is required. The ideal candidate is punctual, dependable, well-organized, and demonstrates initiative, with a strong commitment to supporting high-quality patient care and the success of the clinical team.

 

Typical Schedule:

Shifts are scheduled in 4 or 8-hour increments Spring/Fall - Monday through Friday 8a - 5p and Sundays 12p - 4p Summer - Monday through Friday 8a - 4:30p. Closed on Sundays Note: Scribes will be required to work on select Sundays (rotation)

Salary:

$13.00 per hour
