The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, has a Per Diem opportunity for an Ophthalmic Imager 2 (OI2) in Palm Beach Gardens. The Ophthalmic Imager 2 (OI 2 ) is competent in the theory, principles, and practice of eye care. The position documents in the EMR system and performs ocular diagnostic testing using specialized instrumentation in compliance with department standards.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs diagnostic testing including but not limited to the below.
+ Color fundus photography
+ Fluorescein angiography
+ ICG (Indocyanine Green) angiography
+ Optical coherence tomography
+ Automated perimetry
+ Slit lamp photography
+ External photography
+ Ocular motility photography
+ Performs supervised ocular diagnostic testing using specialty-specific imaging instruments, documents procedures, and uploads images into the electronic medical record /PACS platform.
+ Provide s patient-centric care.
+ Adhere s to University of Miami policies, standards, and values.
+ Compl ies with regulations and maintain s patient confidentiality.
+ Follow s best practices of patient safety, hand hygiene, and infection control.
+ Complete s University of Miami mandatory in-services and online training.
+ Attend s educational courses for ophthalmic personnel when assigned.
+ Demonstrate s high quality of work through accuracy, timeliness, professionalism, and thoroughness.
+ Meet s daily productivity goals.
+ Ensure s all equipment is calibrated, and instrumentation is in proper working order.
+ Participate s in assigned clinical research and maintain s required certifications.
+ Organize s and stock rooms for daily clinical activities.
+ Travel s to satellite eye centers when necessary.
+ Work s evenings and weekends as needed.
+ Performs organization al duties as assigned .
+ Maintain s OPS certifications.
+ Assist s with training of visiting imaging technicians, residents, fellows, and faculty members.
+ Work s with providers, residents, and fellows to provide training and customization of imaging software including hanging protocols.
+ Act s as preceptor for imaging team members .
+ Act s as super user for imaging technology implementations and training initiatives.
+ Support s residents, fellows, and faculty members with imaging presentations.
+ Performs ocular diagnostic examinations using specialty-specific imaging instruments under anesthesia in the OR.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High S chool diploma or equivalent
Certification and Licensing:
OCT-C (Certified Optical Coherence Tomography) or CRA (Certified Retinal Angiographer)
Experience:
2 years of relevant experience

+ Competent in stereopsis technique .
+ Proficien t in Microsoft Office.
