Position Description
Operate Natural Gas Amine Treating units, TEG Dehydration plants, Thermal Oxidizers, and Generators within the assigned primary operating area centered around Laredo, Texas. Secondary responsibilities may include supporting operations in other regions in other Kinder Morgan Treating regions and external customer locations, which may require periodic or extended overnight travel.
Essential Responsibilities:
Operate Natural Gas Amine Treating systems, TEG dehydration units, Thermal Oxidizers, generators, motors, cooling equipment, pumps, seals, valves, and related process equipment.Monitor and control process variables, including pressure, temperature, and flow rates, to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operation.Start, stop, and operate pumps, motors, and associated equipment to maintain designated operating parameters.Perform routine operational maintenance and minor repairs on pumps, valves, heaters, process controls, and related oilfield equipment.Ensure cost effective and reliable operation of all gas processing units and associated systems.Monitor product quality to ensure specifications are met; take corrective action when product is out of specification.Maintain effective communication with company control centers, operational teams, business units, customers, and other key stakeholders.Oversee construction, maintenance, or operational activities performed by third party contractors to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.Identify, report, and correct potential safety, environmental, and operational hazards.Complete required documentation including but not limited to JSAs, Hot Work permits, LOTO procedures, operational logs, and other regulatory or company records.Demonstrate and promote a strong commitment to safety; actively participate in company safety programs.Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Crew Lead.Operate company vehicles safely both on facility grounds and on public roads, in accordance with all company driver policies.
Position Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
Basic computer skills.Working knowledge of mechanical equipment and process systems.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work effectively as part of a team, follow instructions from Supervisor, or Crew Lead, and maintain strong attention to detail.Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Ability to participate in after-hours emergency response; must carry a company provided mobile phone when required.Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the Company and its insurers.May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required.

Work Conditions:
Willingness to work shift schedules, overtime, weekends, and holidays as operationally required, no set schedule.To appropriately perform essential duties of this job, regular work attendance is required.Must be available to respond to operational emergencies outside normal working hours, including nights and weekends, as reasonably required to support 24/7 operations.Ability to lift at least 20 lbs. in awkward positions regularly and up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist occasionally.Ability to work in extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and precipitation.May work in low visibility or low light environments.General Work Schedule:
Operators work a rotating schedule consisting of 12‑hour day and night shifts on a Wednesday‑to‑Wednesday cycle.
Day shift: 48 hours per weekNight shift: 42 hours per weekOperators work eight 12‑hour day shifts, followed by time off, then return to work seven 12‑hour night shifts.
